The discoveries and advances around molecular biology and its interrelation with other sciences or disciplines have allowed the development of techniques for the modification of genetic information. Recombinant protein expression allows us to extract genetic material from a native cell and insert it into a different cell line in order to obtain a target peptide easily and quickly. Prokaryotic platforms, such as E. coli, are the most widely used systems thanks to the advantages it offers for the execution of the process. However, obtaining adequate protein yield through an efficient process requires the optimization of various parameters that influence expression results. For this reason, during the last decade, statistical techniques like Design of Experiment (DoE) have been applied. Some of them, such as the Response Surface Methodology (RSM), allow the optimization, evaluation and validation of these parameters in order to obtain proteins with high performance, quality and efficiency.es
